Search The Web
Search Engines are a convenience. They are the ultimate specific link systems. The World Wide Web has gotten so big that search engines are almost a necessity for detailed informational searches. The following engines were selected because they are touted as the finest currently available. You should find one or two comfortable models.
  • Alta Vista Web Search: AltaVista is powerful, fast and easy to use. It has several choices for categories of searches.
  • DejaNews: Interesting and current health and medicine news. It also includes a section of support groups.
  • InfoSeek: Is another multiple channel engine designed for ease of operation. It offers multiple word or phrase searches.
  • Lycos: General health related topics. Heavy on prevention and related subjects.
  • MetaSearch: Is a search system designed to give you access to multiple internet search engines. MetaSearch differs because it doesn't search them for you. It lets you pick and choose between 8 excellent search engines.
  • SavvySearch: Is another search system designed to query multiple internet search engines, only simultaneously. It may seem a little slower but it is searching 19 other engines to give you the best result possible.
  • Yahoo: Yahoo is probably considered the finest search engine on the Web. Its health sections are spectacular and easily used. The only problem is: It may give you more information than you can use.
